INDUSTRY CROP ESTIMATE

The industry crop estimate has just been reduced from 3.5 to 3.2 million trays. The main factors contributing to this reduction have been crop overestimation and poor export pack outs, which are tracking considerably lower than the previous season – this largely attributed to wind rub. The industry view is that the total crop will actually be around three million trays by the conclusion of export early next year.

With the strong Australian retail window ahead of us, we urge you all to have a close look at the fruit you have hanging and to communicate if you feel there is any variance from what you have communicated to us previously. Regardless of whether the variance is up or down, communication is the key to ensure we meet our retail commitments and maximise grower returns.
